Dylan update

Dylan is 9 weeks old and I can't believe how fast time went by! It has been a hard 2 months, but we are finally starting to get the hang of things and she is starting to sleep more at night and we are so happy about that. She loves smiling and is starting to talk to us. It is the best thing in the world having her look at me and smile and talk. Sometimes I think.. wow is she really all mine? Am I really her mom? Did we really make her? We love being parents and are having so much fun.

We have had lots of visitors the last two months, including my dad, brother, and mom who were here for a couple weeks, followed by Braeden's mom who came for a week and then Braeden's dad, who came out for a later weekend. We loved having them here and miss them so much. It sure is a lot harder to live away from family now that Dylan is here. Because our families are so far away, we are going to be updating our blog weekly with pictures so our family can watch her grow. So I'm sorry if you get sick of pictures of Dylan, but I think that's probably unlikely because she is just so cute :) Get ready for picture overload!

Dylan Ann Cook

June 28, 2012

It is so crazy to think that a little over a week ago Dylan was not here. I don't really remember what it is like without her here anymore. She is perfect in every way and is such a good baby.

My labor and delivery went so well. I'd say I had it pretty easy and loved every minute of it! I had a scheduled appointment at the hospital for the 28th of June. The hospital called that morning at 7:30 am and off we went! Pitocin was started, Dr. Ott broke my water, and contractions got strong fast! I can say that for those who go natural are amazing, I sure wouldn't be able to do it! A few hours after my pitocin started, I got my epidural and oh how wonderful that was! I progressed very quickly and started pushing at 3:20 pm and Dylan arrived at 4:08 pm weighing 7 lbs 5 oz and 20.5 inches long. I will never forget that first moment I held her in my arms and the love I felt at that moment for her and Braeden. What a great experience that was for the both of us.
Recovery has been so good and not as bad as I thought it was going to be. Dylan only cries when she is hungry, tired or needs a diaper change and she sure is a good eater and I am very grateful for that! That is one thing I was so worried about was breatfeeding and she is a champ at that!
She really is the perfect baby.

1st bath at home.. she loves bath time

Those cute BIG feet and LONG fingers
 She sure loves her daddy

The nursery

So I am just about done with Dylan's nursery. Yep Dylan Ann, that is the name we have decided on! Still need to get a side table and a book shelf, but for now I am done since she wont really be in there for a few months. Here are some pictures!

I also have been working on our living room too. We moved in to this place and then I was sick and didn't want to do anything... so I finally have decorated! Still need to put pictures in frames though, but I will wait till Dylan comes.

And I love watermelon

Almost there!

5-31-12

I can't believe June is here already and only 18 more days till my due date. Time has just gone by so fast! Things are progressing and I am measuring right on schedule. It is crazy to think that she really could come any time. We are sure ready for her to come! The nursery is almost done and I will post pictures later this week!
